Role Overview
We seek a Full Stack Developer who bridges technical excellence with deep understanding of IT governance and enterprise architecture. You will develop mission-critical applications while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, industry best practices (COBIT, ITIL), and our governance frameworks. This role is instrumental in our AI-powered process automation initiative and broader digital transformation journey.
Key Responsibilities
Software Development & Architecture
● Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web and mobile applications using modern frameworks (React, Vue, Node.js, Python, Java, etc.)
● Contribute to enterprise architecture decisions with focus on scalability, security, and maintainability
● Implement microservices architecture patterns and API-driven design where applicable
IT Governance & Compliance
● Integrate IT governance principles (COBIT) into development practices and code quality standards
● Ensure all code and systems adhere to security policies, data protection regulations (GDPR, Nigeria Data Protection Regulation), and PENCOM requirements
● Participate in audit preparation and maintain detailed documentation for regulatory compliance
● Champion code review processes focused on governance, security, and auditability
Project & Change Management
● Lead or co-lead development projects following Agile/Scrum methodologies
● Collaborate with Business Analysts and Stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
● Manage technical deliverables, timelines, and quality metrics
IT Service Management & Operations
● Support Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes (ITIL framework)
● Participate in on-call rotation for production support and incident response
● Monitor application performance, optimize system resources, and ensure business continuity
Required Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
● Minimum 5 years of professional full-stack development experience
● Proven expertise in at least 2 backend frameworks (Node.js, Python, Java, .NET, etc.) and 2 frontend technologies (React, Vue, Angular, etc.)
● Strong understanding of IT governance frameworks (COBIT, ISO/IEC 27001) and ability to apply them in development
● Hands-on experience with ITIL practices (incident, problem, change management) or IT operations
● Working knowledge of enterprise architecture principles and system design patterns
● Demonstrated project management experience (Agile/Scrum certification is a plus)
● Experience with relational and non-relational databases (SQL, MongoDB, etc.)
● Strong understanding of security best practices (authentication, encryption, secure coding)
● Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, regulated environments
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience in financial services, pensions, or highly regulated industries
● Knowledge of payment systems, custody operations, or pension fund management
● Certification in governance (COBIT), IT service management (ITIL), or project management (PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master)
● Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code
● Familiarity with API gateway patterns, service mesh, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
● Exposure to AI/ML integration or process automation platforms

● Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
● Collaborative mindset and experience mentoring junior developers
