10% of UBAF Budget will be spent on projects which do not necessarily fall under the 3 Es focus areas.

E.g. Disaster Relief
Adhoc causes which would be beneficial for the Group to identify with.

Economic Development

We will aim to make sustainable improvements in the lives of the needy and under-privileged.

To support/collaborate with organizations that help low-income/no-income groups develop the right skills to become employable and resourceful individuals.

To support/collaborate with organizations which help low-income/no-income groups acquire savings, investments, homes, land and other assets which in essence will create economic empowerment

We will collaborate with organisations such as Youth Business Initiative

Proposed Project:
UBA Foundation Resource Centre

This project essentially is targeted at rehabilitating social miscreants (popularly called Area Boys) by engaging them in different chores like…in order to provide employment for them thereby getting them off the street and keeping them busy.
6 Community Resource Centres in each of the geo-political zones in Nigeria will be opened for this project.  

Education

Literacy rates historically poor in the continent  in 2003, 75.7% of males and 60.6% of females were literate (Source: Population Resource Centre Princeton University) We will target programmes that specifically focus on the low-income/no income groups and their inability to gain access to funds to educate themselves.

Proposed Project:

UBA Foundation SCHOLARS

UBA Foundation aims sponsor 10 scholars per year. Pay for their University education and employ them afterwards in the bank subject to satisfactory performance.
